There has been no offer from Beijing to kyiv to mediate or meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on March 25 in an interview with the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri.
Zelensky said he did not receive “proposals for mediation or meeting”and added that he would like from China, first of all, “respect for the sovereignty and indivisibility of the territory” Ukraine.
In the newspaper’s comments, this sentence of Zelensky’s was interpreted in such a way that he does not consider China’s offer as peace proposals.
Recall, Zelensky’s office chief adviser Mikhail Podolyak was previously reported to have said, commenting on reports that appeared in the media that the Chinese leader was going or promising to call Kiev after his summit with the president Russian Vladimir Putin, that a telephone conversation between Zelensky and Chinese President Xi might not take place due to certain difficulties in his organization.
The Chinese authorities proposed in February their peace plan, which includes 12 points, including calls for a ceasefire, respect for the legitimate interests of all countries in the field of security, the solution of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine
