As a result of monitoring social media, the Elista city prosecutor’s office found that on the VKontakte social network, a woman made a comment and posted three videos intended to humiliate the dignity of a nationwide group of people. The woman was subjected to administrative punishment with a fine, the Kalmykia online agency reported on March 23.
In the woman’s posts, the prosecutor’s office found an administrative offense under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation: the commission of actions aimed at humiliating the dignity of a group of people on the grounds of nationality, language, origin, committed publicly using the information and telecommunications network of the Internet.
The Elista city court found the woman guilty and sentenced her to a fine of 10,000 rubles.
In case of recidivism, the woman will already face a criminal sanction, about which the court warned the citizen.
