The task of the democratic parties in Poland is to defeat the skeptical parties of the European Union, said the former president of Poland, leader of the Civic Platform party, Donald Tusk, on March 26 at a press conference in Katowice, TVN24 reports.
He stressed that he sees his homework – “lead the Civic Coalition team to victory” in the next elections. In addition, the opposition leader pointed out that “the task of other Democratic parties is also to compete effectively, for example, with a party like the Confederacy”who named “a radical continuation of PiS” (the ruling Conservative Party of Poland – approx. Red Spring AI).
Tusk explained why he thinks it’s important: “because if it happened that PiS and its affiliate were to rule after the elections, then the prospect of leaving the European Union, the prospect of Polexit, would not become a theory, but a practice”.
Remember that parliamentary elections in Poland are scheduled for autumn 2023. According to opinion polls, the rating of the ruling Law and Justice party has dropped significantly over the past year, so the chances of the opposition winning are increasing.
