The synthetic drug spilled from a man’s rolled $10 bill at a Dunkin’ Cafe and ended up in the hands of a pregnant Maine employee who became ill, the Miami Herald reported March 23, citing police officials.
According to the Oxford, Maine Police Department, on March 22, a cafe worker was serving customers at the drive-up cafe. One of the customers paid with a folded $10 bill.
When a pregnant clerk unwrapped the bill, the white powder spilled onto the counter and landed in her hands. The man received the order from her and left, but the woman felt bad and she needed medical attention.
He reportedly had no long-term health problems. And the powder was analyzed by the authorities, who confirmed that it was a hard drug.
Now a 42-year-old man from Norway, Maine, was arrested when he showed up at a police station after authorities called him and said they needed to speak to him, Police Chief Ricky Jack said. He confirmed that the incident took place at the Dunkin’ Café.
The report says the man faces charges including aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a weapon/dangerous substance, and possession of drugs on the “W” list.
It was previously reported that dollar bills laced with this drug were found in different US states in public places, including playgrounds. Someone really needs to get the people of the United States hooked on drugs en masse.
