Efforts to curb inflation and stimulate domestic production are long-term programs of the Iranian government, President and Prime Minister Ibrahim Raisi said on March 25, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported.
On March 25, Raisi held the first meeting of the government’s economic coordination council since the start of the Iranian new year, dedicated to considering decisions on the implementation of the year’s motto “Inflation control, output growth.”
This goal is an important task of the people, the government and the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Raisi stressed. This is a long-term task for the government until its implementation, he said.
The President ordered the ministers in charge of economic activities to present their programs and proposals to curb inflation and stimulate production.
Also at this meeting, the ministers of agriculture, industry, economy and roads, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran and the head of the Budgetary Organization presented a report on the economic performance of the country for the last Iranian year (ended on March 20 ) and explained the most important problems facing the country’s economy.
Let us remember that on March 21, in a message on the occasion of Navruz, the Iranian new year, the Supreme Leader of Iran said that inflation is the country’s main problem, and domestic production is undoubtedly one of the keys to save the country of economic problems. Referring to these circumstances, Khamenei announced in his message the motto of the new year: “Inflation control, production growth”.
