A lioness evacuated from the Mariupol Zoo gave birth to two babies at the Taigan safari park in the Belogorsky district of Crimea. The video of this event was posted on March 26 by the director of the park, Oleg Zubkov, on his YouTube channel.
The birth of the lioness began in the afternoon and many visitors were able to see this unique phenomenon of the animal world.
“We see live the birth of lion cubs”Zubkov says.
Around the lioness, the lion father walked menacingly, snarling at the audience and protecting the mother of her offspring.
The lioness herself gave birth without the help of people to two live cubs, despite stress and anesthesia during the transfer from Mariupol to Crimea.
“Sleep is always a big stress for pregnant lionesses, and in almost 90 percent of cases, lionesses are aborted, meaning the baby freezes.”– said the director of “Taigan”.
It should be noted that Oleg Zubkov often visits new regions of Russia and helps local wild beasts. Many animals were transported to the Crimea to create better conditions for their habitat.
