A 48-year-old man was killed and a 22-year-old woman suffered minor injuries this Sunday in a motorcycle-vehicle collision at IC33, off the A2 motorway, in the municipality of Grandola (Setúbal). according to the authorities.
A source from the Alentejo Litoral Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Defense Authority told Lusa that the alarm was given to firefighters at 20:10 and the collision took place “shortly after exiting” the highway do Sul. (A2) for additional route 33 (IC33) towards Grandola and Sines.
Several GNR sources contacted by Lusa said the death was a 48-year-old man who “was a motorcycle driver” and the person with minor injuries was a 22-year-old woman who was traveling in a passenger car.
According to the Sub-Regional Directorate of Civil Protection, firefighters took a slightly injured man to the Litoral Alentejano hospital in the municipality of Santiago do Casem.
Due to the accident, traffic on the spot is circulating alternately, a source from the Setúbal Territorial Command GNR also indicated.
14 operators were mobilized with the support of five vehicles, including firefighters, the National Institute of Emergency Medicine, GNR and Brisa, concessionaire A2.
