Parliament Speaker Augusto Santos Silva on Tuesday expressed dismay at the “dastardly attack” that killed two people at the Ismaili Center in Lisbon, offering condolences to the families and a “word of comfort” to the Ismaili community.
Two people died Tuesday morning at the Ismaili Center in Lisbon in a stabbing attack and a suspect was arrested, a police source told Lusa.
Several people were also injured in the incident, two of whom are in serious condition, according to a source from the National Institute of Emergency Medical Services (INEM).
“Deeply alarmed by the heinous attack that took place today at the Ismaili Center in Lisbon. Full solidarity with the families of the two victims. A word of consolation to the entire Ismaili community,” wrote Augusto Santos Silva on Twitter. .
According to a PSP official, a suspect was arrested after the attack, who also stated that the situation was now under control.
