Several new alleys will be installed in Rostov-on-Don on the spring Arbor Day, the head of the city administration Alexei Logvinenko said on March 29 on his Telegram channel.
“We decided to continue the tradition of planting memorial alleys. We already have the Alley of Champions, the Alley of Parents. Alleys dedicated to the heroic pages of our history will appear on the territory of educational institutions on the next Arbor Day»said the mayor.
In particular, it was planned to create a Doctors’ Alley in the 1 de Mayo park. 40 lilac bushes will be planted there. And chestnut trees will be planted in the central part of the park.
The Alley of Honorary Masters of Russia will appear in Levoberezhny Park. And in the Proletarsky district there will be an Alley of Mentors. These two alleys will be placed in honor of the Year of the Teacher and Mentor.
It should be noted that since 2014, Arbor Day has been celebrated in the Rostov region twice a year – in spring and autumn. Every year, on the second Saturday of April and the third Saturday of October, the people of the region plant trees in their communities.
