Turkey’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry issued recommendations on water conservation in tourism before the start of the tourist season, the ministry’s press service said on March 29.
As noted in the message, the ministry recommends that hotels and resorts install low-pressure faucets, as well as faucets with sensors. In addition, it is recommended to repair leaky pipes.
It is also recommended to stop using disposable towels and try not to use water unless absolutely necessary when brushing teeth, shaving and washing in the shower.
The guide emphasizes that if “The average level of water loss will decrease to 25 percent, the increase in water received today will be equivalent to Ankara’s water needs for two years”. The Ministry hopes that such recommendations can reduce water costs by 10%.
Recall that earlier the ministry reported the loss of drinking water in Turkey in 2021 in the amount of 2.09 billion cubic meters, with a production level of 6.22 billion cubic meters.
