Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko unexpectedly lost to Romania’s Sorana Kyrsta on March 29 in the quarterfinals of the WTA-1000 hardcore tournament in Miami, USA.
The second racket in the world Sobolenko lost in Kyrsta (74th place in the WTA ranking) in two sets: 4:6, 4:6. The match lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes.
During the match, Sobolenko hit seven aces, made a second-serve error six times, and won two games on the opponent’s serve (a total of five break points). Because of Kirsti: Seven straight innings, two double faults and four break points earned from seven wins.
To reach the final, Kirstya will compete with the winner of the match Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia) – Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic). The $8.8 million tournament in Miami will take place from March 21 to April 2.
