The principles of social justice in Uzbekistan were explained by the head of department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic, Mirzhalol Allakuliyev, on March 28 at a press conference.
At a press conference, the journalists asked Allakuliyev to explain why the doctor, who received a bribe of 500 thousand soums (3.4 thousand rubles), received five years in prison, and the mayor, for embezzlement, abuse of power, official falsification and violation of the land grant procedure, received only three years.
“The court works within the framework of sanctions. Even if the crime of bribery is small, this (installed – approx. Red Spring AI) a greater sanction”, replied the minister.– said Allakuliev.

Allakuliyev said it is not difficult to imagine a situation where a doctor does not operate until he has received a bribe of 100,000 soums (675 rubles), but the consequences of this are more serious.
That is why the laws provide for more severe penalties, since such infractions have great consequences for society, he stressed. Given this, it is necessary to correctly understand each item, Allakuliyev said.
According to Allakuliyev’s logic, if a high-ranking official robbed his district, leaving companies, schools or any social group without money, then he is less guilty than a doctor who was taught to take bribes.
