The Bear Patrol project in the Chukotka village of Vankarem is looking for an opportunity to continue its activities, Roman Korkishko, head of the Egvekinot urban district administration, said on March 31 on his Telegram channel.
He reported on a meeting with a well-known hunter and public activist on the outskirts of Chukotka, Sergei Kavry, who is the coordinator of the Bear Patrol project in the village of Vankarem.
Kavry spoke about the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Polar Bear Universe” that was held from March 15 to 17, as well as about existing problems. In particular, a search for funds is being carried out to be able to continue the activities of the Bear Patrol.
“I believe that through joint efforts, over time, we will be able to obtain funding for projects again in order to revive previously conducted research on the polar bear.”Korkishko wrote.
