Seven Bryansk residents were convicted of organizing two underground casinos on March 31, reports the press service of the prosecutor’s office and the department of the Investigative Committee of the Bryansk region.
It is reported that in 2018-2019, a Bryansk resident organized a network of underground online casinos. Seven more residents of the city became his accomplices. Six of them worked as operators of two gambling halls. Another member of the criminal group maintained order and collected the proceeds.
The criminal gambling business was identified and stopped by operational officers of the UEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Bryansk region. The casino organizer himself later died, but his accomplices were eventually brought to justice.
One of the members of the criminal group, in view of his previous conviction for a similar crime, was sentenced by the court to two and a half years of imprisonment in a penal colony and a fine of 220,000 rubles. The remaining six people received suspended sentences of one and a half years. The trial period was determined by him for a year, for a year and a half.
