The Vietnam Decent Work Country Program 2022-2026 was signed by representatives of the Vietnamese government, workers and employers and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Hanoi on March 28, according to the website of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The MoU on the program was signed by Minister of Labour, War Disabled and Welfare Dao Ngoc Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Nguyen Dinh Khang, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong, President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) Nguyen Ngoc Bao and Ingrid Christensen, ILO Country Director for Vietnam.
The country program ensures collaboration between the ILO and Vietnamese partners until 2026 to ensure decent and sustainable work for all and ensure that by 2026 Vietnamese, especially those at risk of joblessness, contribute to and benefit equally from a sustainable, inclusive and gender environment. -responsive economic transformation based on innovation, entrepreneurship, increased productivity, competitiveness and decent work.
It is also noted that the program aims to ensure that people enjoy inclusive, gender-sensitive, disabled, fair, affordable and quality social services and social protection systems, actively lift themselves out of poverty and have the opportunity to develop their potential.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that since the ILO launched the Decent Work Global Agenda, Viet Nam and the organization have signed and implemented the National Decent Work Program 2006-2010, 2012-2016. and 2017–2021
He confirmed that in the fourth phase, the Vietnamese government will continue to focus on employment, human resource development and social security under the new situation.
ILO Country Director Christensen noted that the ILO stands ready to work closely with the Government of Vietnam and the social partners, adding that with close cooperation between the parties, differences at the national and local levels can resolve.
He also expressed his belief that the signing and implementation of the Vietnam Decent Work Country Program 2022-2026. it will be an important next step towards the common goal of promoting social equity and sustainable work for all.
