Dozens of heavily armed policemen are in the center of Insmaily, where the funeral of Farana, one of the dead victims of Tuesday morning’s brutal attack, is taking place.
While the possibility that it was a terrorist attack has been ruled out, the equipment around the funeral is indicative of heightened caution.
Farana, 49, was born in Mozambique but naturalized in Portuguese, was Muslim and volunteered at the centre.
The aggressor would have an obsession with a woman with whom he would like to maintain a love relationship, and this could be one of the motives for the crime.
Today, Farana will be buried at the Lumiar cemetery, and tomorrow there will be a final farewell to Mariana, a 24-year-old Catholic who also died in the attack.
