Vietnamese investors have invested around $120 million abroad in 11 different industries since the beginning of the year, according to the Vietnamese Communist Party website on March 30.
Most of the investments were made in the information and communications industry.
According to the Department of Foreign Investment, in the first three months of 2023, Vietnam’s newly registered and adjusted total capital abroad amounted to nearly $119.5 million, up 56.5% compared to the same period in 2022. .
In particular, 21 investment projects received new investment registration certificates with a total authorized capital of nearly $113.3 million, which represents 62.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In addition, 7 investment projects increased capital by more than $6.2 million, which represents 19.9% of the same period in 2022.
Let us remember that also in the first 3 months of 2023, 15 countries and territories received investments from Vietnam.
Singapore leads with one newly registered investment project and one adjusted capital project with a total registered investment capital of $105.5 million, representing 88.3% of the country’s total foreign investment.
Thus, as of March 20, 2023, Vietnam has 1,625 active overseas investment projects with a total investment capital of nearly $21.9 billion.
