Hundreds of people were injured in a tornado that hit the city of Little Rock in Arkansas in the United States this Friday. The University of Arkansas classified the event as “catastrophic”.
According to Reuters, the tornado affected several city blocks, many houses were left without roofs and walls, some of them collapsed, cars turned over into the trash on the streets. This Friday, the US National Weather Service issued a warning for various parts of the country about various weather hazards. The warning is valid until the weekend.
american newspaper New York Times claims that about 75,000 people in Arkansas do not have access to electricity. Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri are also under a tornado warning.
“This is a particularly dangerous situation,” the weather service said of weather warnings in effect in the United States.
