The authorities of the region signed a contract for the design of the airport in Balakovo, Saratov region. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, on April 2 on his Telegram channel.
“The design will be carried out within the framework of a public-private alliance, and it is also planned to include the project in the state program “Development of the transport system””Volodin said.
He noted that the airport can provide additional opportunities for the development of the city. Its construction will be carried out in parallel with the development program of the Balakovo agglomeration.
When developing the project, it is assumed that the airport will be able to serve up to 100 passengers per hour.
Please note that the airport was opened in 1984. From there flights were made both to the cities of the Saratov region and to other regions of the Soviet Union. In 2001 the airport was closed.
