Soldiers of the British Royal Guard complained about the dirt, rubble and poor movement of the barracks, the Daily Mail reports April 2.
The tasks of the royal guard include the protection of King Charles III of Great Britain. The Guard Barracks is located a few hundred meters from Buckingham Palace. The most famous regiments in the country live in the barracks: Coldstream, Grenadiers, Irish, Scottish and Welsh Guards.
“This is a disgusting way to treat soldiers who are doing a very important job. British prisoners have better living conditions than we do. Wellington Barracks is absolutely dirty, but it looks great from the outside.”said the ex-serviceman from Coldstream.
The soldiers provided the publication with photos of the barracks, which show how mountains of garbage are thrown in the passages to the compound, the beds are not made, the bathroom is in a deplorable state, the refrigerator inside is very dirty.
It is striking that only the base barracks are in a disgusting state, the buildings where the officers live are kept in perfect condition.
“Rats died in the trash cans and we had to clean them up when we worked in the morning. There are piles of rubbish inside the houses and the stench from the bathrooms is unbearable”.– The ex-military complains about the conditions.
He further said that the officers were indifferent to the soldiers’ complaints about the state of the barracks, some officers rudely rejected the soldiers who complained to them.
The ex-soldier wonders how it is possible that they are guarding one of the most famous characters, and after the service they return “in a dirty hell”.
