
Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, was instructed to report on the verification of the negligence of officials responsible for preserving the monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in Novorossiysk, the committee’s press service said on April 3 on his Telegram channel.
“The head of the Investigative Committee of the ICR for the Krasnodar Territory, Andrey Maslov, will inform Bastrykin about the circumstances of the incident established during the audit”says the message.
Earlier, an appeal of local residents appeared in the media and on social networks, in which they say that a military monument to the sappers “Saraychik” is located on private territory. Next to the monument is a mass grave in which 1,300 Red Army soldiers are buried. The owner of the land, according to the residents of the area, restricted access to the monument by making a platform for containers there.
Recall, Bastrykin also asked to report on the investigation of the criminal case on the fact of the reconstruction of the memorial of Malaya Zemlya in Novorossiysk. He filed against officials of the regional Ministry of Culture.
