The man drove his Fiat Punto closer to the car in front, and as soon as the gates opened, Mario accelerated to pass too. On his way out, he did the same.
Even if the man managed to pass without paying, cameras at the toll booths filmed all entries and exits and allowed the authorities to identify the owner of the car.
“I was bored at night,” he explained to his lawyer. Corriere della Sera. “I didn’t pay because the highway is public, they can’t charge tolls. Not to mention that the prices are too high for the service they offer,” he explained.
