GNR seized more than €100,000 worth of drugs and several luxury cars in an operation that arrested seven people and eliminated what it believes is the largest drug ring operating in the Western Region.
In a statement released today, GNR announced the arrest on Wednesday of four men and three women, aged between 21 and 65, for drug trafficking in the municipalities of Alcobaça, Bombarral, Caldas da Rainha, Óbidos and Porto de Mós. , all in the district of Leiria and in the municipality of Rio Maior, in the district of Santarém.
The operation carried out by the GNR was the result of an investigation into drug trafficking that lasted for about a year and which, according to Diogo Morgado, commander of the Caldas da Rainha Territorial Detachment, “seven elements operating in several municipalities were arrested and narcotic drugs were confiscated in over 100,000 euros.
