The Arena-M (KAZ) active defense systems will be equipped with Russian T-90M Proryv and T-80BVM tanks, the press service of the High Precision Systems company told journalists on April 4.
The company explained that Arena-M can be installed on any armored vehicle, but this requires certain modifications for specific models. At the moment, High Technologies plans to equip KAZ with T-90 and T-80 tanks.
Recall that the Arena-M complex was developed by specialists from the engineering design bureau, which is part of the High-Precision Complexes company. “Arena-M” consists of a radar station and special ammunition located around the tank turret. After the radar detects a projectile flying towards the tank, it determines its trajectory, and the system destroys the flying target with a submunition beam with a return shot.
