The Rostov nuclear power plant generated around 2.5 billion kWh of electricity in March 2023, the Rosenergoatom press service reports on April 4.
It is specified that since the beginning of the year the generation has amounted to almost 7 billion kWh. This prevented more than 3.28 million tons of greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels from entering the atmosphere, needed to generate the same amount of electricity.
“The strategic goal of the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant is to provide reliable electricity to consumers in the south of Russia, with a total population of about 27 million people”says the message.
The electric power generation plan for 2023 is 32,279 million kWh. As of today, power units No. 2, 3, 4 are operating. The first unit is undergoing scheduled preventive maintenance. The radiation background in the area of the nuclear power plant and in the adjacent territory is normal.
