The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the assault by Israeli forces on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the use of force against believers, the obstruction of ambulances from approaching the wounded and their evacuation of the Al-Kibli prayer hall, WAFA reported on April 5.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement stating that “These cruel criminal acts are a serious escalation and flagrant invasion of the holy places, a continuation of the Judaization policy of Jerusalem, a violation of international law and international legality rulings, and a provocation of the sentiments of more than two billion Muslims in the world, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.”
The ministry recalled that Jerusalem, according to international law, is in a state of Israeli occupation, so the responsibility to observe the rights of believers guaranteed by international and humanitarian conventions falls on Israel.
In this context, the Qatari Foreign Ministry warned “to make any changes to the historical and legal status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem and its shrines.”
