The minesweepers of the formation of the ships of the protection of the water area of the Baltic Naval Base conducted artillery fire on the fields located in the Baltic Sea. Artillery fire was carried out, in accordance with the exercise plan, against targets simulating air targets and floating mines.
Practical firing was carried out from AK-306 30mm artillery systems and MTPU 14.5mm pedestal machine gun mounts. Shooting was carried out on special illumination shells, launched from the “Acacia” 152-mm divisional self-propelled howitzer of the “Taran” corporal, as well as on simulated air targets, set with the help of special pyrotechnic rocket cartridges.
After completing the air defense tasks, the minesweeper crews carried out the destruction of mock-up floating mines. In addition, as part of the development of mine action, the crew of the base minesweeper “Alexander Obukhov” successfully searched for and recovered the universal bottom mine UDM-500, the task was carried out using a contact trawl on deep water.
