Kia Corp., South Korea’s second-largest automaker, plans to sell 1 million electric vehicles by 2026 with the goal of becoming a “sustainable mobility solutions provider,” the Yonhap news agency reported on Jan. 5. April.
Kia plans to launch the EV9 all-electric flagship SUV nationwide in the first half of this year and gradually expand its electric vehicle lineup with 15 models by 2027, the company said in the bottom of this year’s overall investor.
The K5 Sorento sedan and SUV maker wants to add the EV9 GT series and high-performance EV9 GT models to its lineup of electric vehicles later this year.
The EV9 is the second Kia model to feature Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated EV platform, called E-GMP, after the launch of the EV6 SUV in 2021.
