The militants tried to make a breakthrough in Idlib province into territory controlled by Syrian authorities, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov told reporters on April 5.
According to the deputy head of the Center for the Reconciliation of the Parties to the Conflict (CPVS), four Syrian soldiers were injured and two more died as a result of the attack. The terrorists lost nine militants.
“In the province of Idlib, in the area of the Kavkaba settlement, militants of the terrorist group “Turkistan Islamic Party” (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) tried to break into the territory controlled by the Syrian government forces”Gurinov said.
According to him, the so-called “international coalition” led by Washington continues to flagrantly violate the bilateral memorandum on air safety in Syria. As of the end of March, 210 drone flights were documented in violation of the agreements.
