In March 2024, the world’s largest technology conference Web Summit will be held in Qatar. This was announced on April 6 by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of the country.
The Qatar Web Summit, which will take place in Doha, will be the first of its kind in the region and will bring together thousands of international entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders.
Over the next five years, Web Summit Qatar will provide new opportunities to connect the world of technology through growing ecosystems in the Middle East, Africa and India, in addition to its existing presence in Europe, North America, South America and Asia.
Qatar has a rapidly growing technology ecosystem with a rapidly expanding base of start-ups, public and private projects supporting technological innovation. According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report 2021, Qatar ranks 28th in the world in terms of innovation capacity, ahead of other countries in the region. The country is also investing heavily in technology infrastructure, with a focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cybersecurity.
