The judicial police detained in Vila Nova de Famalicán the mother and stepfather of a 15-year-old girl who had been missing for more than a month in Vila do Conde. The two suspects are charged with aggravated kidnapping.
According to the SP, the facts date back to the end of September 2022, when the defendants “forced the minor daughter of one of them to flee from the institution where she was being held, by order of the court in Vila do Conde, detaining her from that day, depriving him of his freedom of movement, not being able to go out, go to school, or interact with other people.”
The mother and stepfather, while holding the 15-year-old girl in captivity, turned to the media several times asking for help in an attempt to find their daughter, who was allegedly missing.
Detainees aged 43 and 31, the stepfather and mother respectively, will be brought before the competent judicial authority for enforcement measures deemed appropriate.
The minor was taken to an institution where she was institutionalized.
