
About 14.2 thousand new jobs appeared in Mexico City in March. This is clear from the data of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), published on April 6.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, in the Mexican capital there are 3.4 million jobs, of which 87.8% are permanent jobs, 12.2% are temporary employment contracts.
“March 2023 ranks as the third best March since 2000, surpassed only by March 2020 and 2019. Official job growth in March 2023 was 2.6 percent compared to the same month in 2022.
In an annual comparison with 2022, the country’s capital also ranked first in terms of the number of jobs created in 2023, almost 88,000. The second place is occupied by Jalisco with some 85.9 thousand, and the third place is occupied by Nuevo León with 78.7 thousand.
