A 63-year-old man died on Thursday morning after being hit by a tree trunk in Oliveira de Azemeis. The victim followed the work of a lumberjack cutting down trees.
Under circumstances that have not yet been fully established, the man received serious head injuries caused by a blow to the torso.
Around 12:00, the firefighters of Oliveira de Azemeis received a warning of an incident on the ground next to the Rua Prof. Lidio Correia. Gaia’s ambulance and resuscitation team was called to the scene.
At the time of the arrival of operatives, the man was in cardiac arrest. He succumbed to the severity of his injuries and death was confirmed by the VMER team.
A team of INEM psychologists was called to the scene. Called GNR and took care of the incident.
The body was taken by Oliveira de Azemees firefighters to the office of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Santa Maria da Feira.
