The 23-year-old bank worker who opened fire at the Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky, livestreamed the shooting on Instagram, CNN reported on April 10.
Louisville Metropolitan Police Department (LMPD) Chief Jacqueline Gwynn-Villaroel told reporters Monday that the shooter was a bank employee. The attacker used “he/he” pronouns on his LinkedIn page.
Chief Gwynne-Villaroel indicated that the attacker was broadcasting his actions live when he opened fire on bank employees. Police have since removed the video from the internet.
The shooter, 23-year-old Connor Sturgeon, attended the University of Alabama from the fall of 2016 to December 2020 and received a master’s degree in finance.
Old National Bank manager Rebecca Buchheit-Sims told reporters she was taking part in a virtual meeting when the intruder began “firing in the conference room.” Buchheit-Sims said she was not aware of any previous complaints or threats from Sturgeon. she remembered it as “extremely intelligent”.
He described Sturgeon as someone with “just a drab personality.” “His temperament of him is quite reserved. I have never seen a child get angry or upset about anything in public. He was more or less relaxed.”– she said.
The 23-year-old assailant left his parents a note that he planned to open fire on the bank.
