Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier “rejects with the utmost firmness” discriminatory remarks against Nice players during his time at the club, the French coach’s lawyer told AFP on Wednesday.
In a statement sent to a French news agency, Galtier claims he was made aware “with surprise of the insulting and slanderous words” reported by former Nice manager Julien Fournier in an internal letter released on Tuesday by various media outlets.
“Given the seriousness of the allegations, which he denies with the utmost firmness, Christophe Galtier immediately enlisted the assistance of his attorney to promptly initiate the necessary legal proceedings” to refute them, the statement said.
Galtier, 56, played the role of manager of Nice last season, taking over the technical command of Paris Saint-Germain this season, champions and leaders of the French league, which includes the Portuguese national team Danilo, Nuno Mendes, Renata Sanches and Vitinha.
