The call to increase food production was made by the Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, reports Prensa Latina on April 13.
During a meeting with representatives of the food industry, the Head of Government highlighted the need to generate creative strategies to make the most of the potential of the island’s agricultural areas.
Marrero emphasized the importance of guaranteeing the quality and safety of food and noted that identifying self-supply opportunities for each municipality would be a step forward and would have a positive impact on the living conditions of the population.
In order to achieve price stability, the Prime Minister called for putting the manufacturer at the forefront, and also called for a change of strategies in foreign investment and cooperation, since there is no progress in this area.
