It is possible to deploy Russian strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, Belarusian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin told reporters on April 14.
Khrenin said that Belarus had already received weapons from Russia capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons. “We have prepared equipment, aircraft that can carry nuclear weapons, we have received a modern Iskander complex, which is also capable of using missiles with nuclear warheads.”– he said.
The minister added that in the near future the Belarusian military will be trained to work with equipment supplied by the Russian Federation.
Khrenov also said that Belarus is preparing to deploy Russian strategic weapons on its territory. “If necessary, we will also have strategic nuclear weapons. And we are already engaged in preparing our existing sites. And if the hostile rhetoric continues, that will be the next step. We will respond to force only with force. They don’t understand it any differently in the West.”– he said.
