Cuba’s commitment to support Honduras through the implementation of educational programs was ratified by Cuba’s Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velásquez, reports Prensa Latina on April 14.
In a meeting with President Siomara Castro, the minister explained in detail to the head of state the execution of the educational projects.
During the meeting, Velásquez conveyed the greetings of President Miguel Díaz-Canel and thanked Honduras for its position in international forums against the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba more than 60 years ago.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding. The Cuban official was accompanied by the island’s Vice Minister of Education, Eugenio González, the representative of the Cuban educational mission in Honduras, Clay Pérez, and the Havana ambassador in Tegucigalpa, Juan Laforte.
