The Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office opened an ex officio case against Milanko Kajganić, the Chief Prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), in connection with a statement he made to the media on April 14, the news agency reports. Vijesti.ba. .
In a controversial statement, Kajganic interpreted the amendments to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina as prohibiting denial of genocide and said that we have a situation where any dispute over whether or not there was genocide is a criminal offence, which according to his interpretation, is not complies with the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Remember that the amendments to the BiH Penal Code were made on 23 July 2021 by the Supreme Representative in BiH, Valentin Intsko, a week before his resignation. This action by Inzko led to the most serious political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
