One person died Tuesday as a partial collapse of a parking lot in Manhattan, New York, USA. Another five people were injured.
It is reported by the Associated Press with reference to Mayor Eric Adams.
The three-story building collapsed around 4:00 pm (9:00 am in Lisbon) a few blocks from City Hall and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Several students from Pace University said they heard screams and saw cars fall from infrastructure. “It was like an earthquake,” said one of the students, Liam Gaeta.
According to firefighters, there are reports that several people were detained and that searches were launched for this reason. However, work was suspended due to concerns about the instability of the building.
