Just over 100 days after taking office for the third time as president of Brazil, on January 1, Lula da Silva is experiencing a period of unprecedented low popularity in her long political career. The dwindling popularity of the 77-year-old head of state, who ended his other two terms as a presidential endorser, was reported this Wednesday by the Genial Quaest Institute.
According to the poll, between February and April, Lula da Silva lost four points in popularity, rising from 40% to 36%. The number of Brazilians disapproving of a president in office for just over three and a half months jumped from 20% to 29% in the same period, a significant increase for such a short nine-point rate.
However, according to a survey conducted by Genial Quaest in all regions of Brazil, 55% of Brazilians believe that Lula is not delivering what he promised during the election campaign. The study shows that 53% believe Lula has good intentions and has tried but failed in several areas.
Lula da Silva’s support for Lula da Silva, shown in this overview, is the lowest in the first three months of all his presidential transitions. With the exception of the social sphere, where the approval of measures such as hiring more doctors and expanding the Bolsa Família program is approved by most Brazilians, Lula disappointed many people, mainly in the economic sphere, in appointing the accused. to important positions, disruptions and, more recently, radicalization of tone and speech.
