This Saturday, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) extended to the islands of the eastern group the existing yellow warning for the central group of the Azores regarding precipitation, which can be heavy at times.
The islands of the Central Group (Terceira, Sao Jorge, Pico, Graciosa and Faial) are already under a yellow warning from 9:00 this Saturday, which will remain in effect until 12:00 on Sunday due to forecasts of occasional heavy rainfall that may be accompanied by a thunderstorm .
The Yellow Warning now also applies to the Eastern Group (San Miguel and Santa Maria) and will be in effect from 00:00 to 12:00 on Sunday.
This yellow alert is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk of certain actions depending on weather conditions.
