Two Danish journalists were interrupted while reporting live by Qatari authorities and threatened on Tuesday.
An electric car with three people stopped next to the journalists, and the approaching men tried to close the camera lens, later threatening to break the equipment.
Some time later, Danish journalists – Tantold and an image reporter accompanying him – confirmed the incident on the social network Twitter and said that they had received an apology from the Qatari authorities, who, having confirmed the reporter’s identity, realized that the police intervention was a mistake.
We have now received an apology from the Qatar International Media Office and from the Qatar Supreme Committee.
Here’s what happened when we broadcast live for @tv2nyhederne from the roundabout today in Doha. But will it happen to other media as well? #FIFAWorldCupQatar2022 pic.twitter.com/NSJj50kLql— Rasmus Tantholdt TV2 (@RasmusTantholdt) November 15, 2022
