The Judicial Police (PJ) has requested the extradition of a 77-year-old Portuguese man detained in Brazil who faces rigorous charges of 67 crimes of aggravated child sexual abuse. An elderly man is accused of repeatedly assaulting his 11-year-old granddaughter during his stay in Portugal. The crimes were committed between 2017 and 2019.
According to a statement released this Saturday by the SP, the extradition is being carried out in accordance with an international arrest warrant issued by the services of the State Ministry of DIAP Sintra.
The SP traveled to São Paulo, Brazil, where “the detainee was handed over to him by the authorities of that state, and he was responsible for his transportation and protection throughout the country.”
The sexual aggressor was brought to the competent authorities for judicial interrogation and a measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him.
