The 17th International Documentary Film Festival “Won Together” started in Volgograd, reports the online edition “V1.RU” on November 19.
The opening ceremony of the event was held at the Volgograd State Technical University. detailed schedule published on the publication’s website.
The festival is reported to be held in the city from November 19 to 22. 151 paintings will be exhibited at the city’s headquarters within the framework of competitive programs and out of competition.
The main domestic and foreign screenings, as well as the work of the jury, will be held at Volgograd State University. Pre-registration is required for this event.
There will also be round tables, master classes and seminars. Entrance to all events is free. The event is expected to be visited by directors (authors of the festival films) from 19 countries.
“This is the largest event in the cultural life of not only Volgograd, but also our country, because it is the largest documentary film show in Russia, with such serious and authoritative international participation”– said the general producer of the film festival, president of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio, Deputy Secretary General of the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia, Valery Ruzin.
The festival’s competitors will be works by directors from 35 countries: Argentina, Canada, France, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Belarus, Serbia and several other countries. As part of the special program, paintings by Chinese authors will be displayed.

Recall that from November 4 to 7, Volgograd hosted the South Russian binary film festival “Ascension”. The organizers screened films about the rise of the human spirit, breaking the limits of the possible. All the films presented at the festival are in black and white and are recognized classics of world cinema.
As the organizer of the festival Inna Astafurova noted, today our life is changing, but some have not yet understood this. But life must change for everyone, “not only for those who are now fighting at the front, but also for those who are in the cities and continue to live, as it were, the old life.”
