Gieddon Pollard, 2, was killed Tuesday after being attacked by two dogs outside a hotel in Kaura, New South Wales, Australia.
According to the newspaper Mirror, the child who was playing was bitten by a rottweiler and a shepherd dog. The child sustained several head and neck injuries as a result of the attack.
The dogs are believed to be owned by staff at the Country Gardens Motor Inn in Kaur and authorities have already taken them away.
The relative referred to Daily Telegraph that “several children have played with dogs before. No problems have ever been recorded,” they say. The attack happened “for no apparent reason,” they add.
The child, Gieddon, was taken to a local hospital center but was eventually transferred to Westmead Hospital in Sydney.
Gieddon Pollard died from his injuries.
