Kenyan religious leader Ezekiel Odero admitted this Saturday that 15 people died during his “spiritual interventions” at the Malindi religious center, the same place where more than 100 corpses were found on another spiritual leader’s farm.
According to the Spanish news agency Efe, Odero is being held as part of a major security operation against various Christian sects after the discovery of more than 20 mass graves on the farm of spiritual leader Paul Mackenzie, who was detained in the middle of the month for promoting fasting among his followers as a way to “find Jesus Christ.”
Odero acknowledged the deaths of his followers of the Center for Prayer and the Church for New Life, although his lawyers emphasize that the deceased were already “in critical condition” when they arrived at the center.
