The leader of Denmark’s main trade union confederation, Lisette Risgaard, announced her resignation this Sunday following allegations of harassment and inappropriate behavior by several young people.
On her Facebook page, the 62-year-old president of the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions (FH) said that “information from various sources” has become an obstacle to the trade union struggle: “Therefore, I have decided to step down as president of FH. It was one of the most difficult decisions in my life,” he said.
Lisette Risgaard also asked not to make “hasty judgments based on newspaper articles, rumors, public opinion or social media” despite having previously apologized and partially admitted to groping.
