Suede Birkenstocks were the shoes Steve Jobs wore for years. With these sandals, he accompanied important events for the growth and development of Apple. According to The Washington Post, they were one of the most important pieces in the late tech giant’s wardrobe. “Sandals were part of his simple side. They were uniform. They could be worn even in winter,” said an old friend. Chrisann Brennan in an interview with an American newspaper in 2018.
The auction house intended to raise at least $60,000 for these used sandals, but expectations were largely surpassed and a new purchase price record was broken. The identity of the buyer is unknown.
Currently, an identical pair of sandals sells for about $125 in brick-and-mortar stores or on the Danish brand’s official website.
