Lisbon Mayor Carlos Moedas referred exclusively to CMTV that Portuguese politics are going through “very difficult times” following the latest government split that led to the sacking of Deputy Infrastructure Minister Frederico Pinheiro.
On the sidelines of the event in Lisbon, Carlos Moedas refrained from commenting on the case of Joao Galamba and the Information and Security Service (SIS). “I’m the mayor of Lisbon, so I don’t comment on government affairs,” he began.
“But the truth is that we are going through very difficult times. What the mayor can guarantee is stability, stability for the city, calmness, the work that I do every day with people from work to Lisbon and with people. Lisbon,” the mayor said.
As a reminder, Frederico Pinheiro was fired on Wednesday and accuses Joao Galamba of wanting to hide information from the TAP investigation commission about a “preparatory meeting” with the former CEO. The Minister of Infrastructure “categorically” denied the accusations of the rehabilitated deputy, noting that, “on the contrary”, “all the documentation requested by the CPI was provided in full.”
